Cheryle D. Snead-Greene Appointed to International Center for Academic Integrity Board of Directors

Academic Affairs

Prairie View A&M University’s Office of Academic Affairs is pleased to announce the selection of Cheryle D. Snead-Greene, Ph.D., assistant provost and assistant professor of the practice, by the International Center for Academic Integrity to serve on its Board of Directors. Throughout her two-year board appointment, Dr. Snead-Greene will assist the ICAI in continuing to offer assessment services, resources and consultations to its member institutions.

Dr. Snead-Greene is an alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin (Ph.D.), Prairie View A&M University (M.A.), Kent State University (M.A.), and the University of Akron (B.A.). She has written a number of articles and book chapters and made many scholarly presentations. With over 20 years of experience in higher education, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role on the Board of Directors of the ICAI.

About the ICAI

The International Center for Academic Integrity was founded in 1992 to combat cheating, plagiarism and academic dishonesty in higher education. Its mission has since expanded to include the cultivation of cultures of integrity in academic communities throughout the world. ICAI’s core beliefs focus on the six fundamental values: honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility and courage. These values serve as a touchstone for the organization and its members.

The commitment to maintaining an atmosphere of intellectual integrity and academic honesty is an essential feature of the Prairie View A&M University experience. In early 2019, the university updated its academic integrity policy and named a board to review academic misconduct cases; in late 2020, the Academic Integrity website was developed and went live to the campus community. Dr. Snead-Greene serves as PVAMU’s Academic Integrity Review Board Chair. Like the ICAI, the mission of the AIRB is to build and sustain a culture of intellectual integrity and academic honesty.
