North American Society for Sport Management
The mission of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) is to promote, stimulate, and encourage study, research, scholarly writing, and professional development in the area of sport management. Members of the Society are concerned about the theoretical and applied aspects of management theory and practice specifically related to sport, exercise, dance, and play, as these fields are pursued by all sectors of the population. The Society endeavors to support and cooperate with local, regional, national, and international organizations that have similar purposes and organizes and administers conferences to promote its purposes.
National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics
NACDA serves as the professional association for those in the field of athletics administration, providing educational opportunities and serves as a vehicle for networking and the exchange of information to others in the profession.
The SMA strives to be an organization that: 1) leads in the development and expansion of the body of knowledge in sport marketing, 2) disseminates sport marketing knowledge through internal and external distribution networks, 3) provides forums for professional interaction among academics, practitioners, and students dedicated to the sport marketing industry and 4) affects the development of the academic discipline and the field of sport marketing.
