Syllabus JJUS 5391: Correlates of Crime and DelinquencyThis course will review some of the major correlates of crime and delinquency. The extent
and nature of the empirical relationship between each of these factors and
crime/delinquency will be examined. The theoretical explanations for these relationships will
be considered. The reciprocal relationship between these correlates and criminal justice
policies and practices will also be explored.
