An introduction to Nursing search strategies: Accessing the PVAMU and TMC Library databases

If you are a registered student with Prairie View A&M University (including the College of Nursing), you already have access to the PVAMU databases.  While you're on the CON campus, you will automatically have access to the databases.  Go here to find out more about accessing library resources from off campus.

Gaining access to TMC library databases is a multi-step process.  Go here to begin the sign-up process: 

1. Complete the Online Library Card Registration form and submit it. 

     a. Select Institutional Affiliation:  Using the drop-down box, select Prairie View A&M University

     b. Institutional Street Address, City State, Zip:

          6436 Fannin Street, Office 941, Houston, Texas 77030

     c. Office phone (use Library phone number): 713-790-7119

     d, Institutional email:  use your PVAMU email address.

2. Download and complete the Library Card Registration Form.

3. Print form out and bring it to the librarian's office (941) to submit.

4.  The PVAMU librarian will authorize, scan and submit the form to TMC Library.

5.  You will receive an email address confirming receipt and giving you your library number.    If you choose, you can go to TMC Library and pick up your library card.  The email you receive will provide further instructions on accessing TMC library databases.
