Women's History Month Craft-Pencil Skirts
The John B. Coleman Library will host a Women's History Month craft making activity--Create your own "Pencil Skirt". No experience is needed. In 20 minutes you can design and sew a skirt.
Get tips on the art of dress making and fabric selection. Students will also learn the entrepreneurial aspects of a sewing business.
Fabric provide for the first 20 registered participants. Refreshments included.

Daughters of the Dust Film Viewing, March 20, 2019 at the Northwest Houston Center, 5:30 pm
Daughters of the Dust (1991) was the first feature film directed by an African-American woman distributed theatrically in the United States. It tells the story of three generations of Gullah (Geechee) women, their African customs and Gullah traditions. It is an esthetically beautiful and historically enlightening film.

The purpose of the WLC is to serve as an advocacy and action body dedicated to developing female students into successful professionals by providing social and cultural development of female students at PV. We are going to continue with this purpose and expand it to include faculty and staff as well.
