What is a Dataset?

A dataset is a collection of data organized around a specific topic or theme. 

Datasets can be used for: 

  • Market research
  • Analyzing competitors
  • Comparing prices
  • Identifying and studying trends

 

General Datasets

UC Irvine Machine Learning Repository

A collection of databases, domain theories, and data generators used by the machine learning community for empirical analysis of machine learning algorithms. 

Corgis: The Collection of Really Great, Interesting, Situated Datasets

Contains a wide variety of datasets. 

DASL

Archive of data from a wide variety of topics. 

Music Datasets

Million Song Dataset

A collection of audio features and metadata for a million contemporary popular music tracks. Please note that this site appears to only go to 2012. 

Social Science Datasets

Pew Research Center

A nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping the world.

World Health Organization

The World Health Organization manages and maintains a wide range of data collections related to global health and well-being.
