Join the Texas A&M University System Student Affairs Symposium.

All DSA staff are invited to attend this annual workshop (virtually) to hear from featured speakers and other colleagues from across the system. The planning team from Texas A&M University - Commerce is excited to share a symposium tailored to a virtual format. This year’s symposium will feature three speakers associated with our theme; Resilience, Renewal, Return. All members of DSA are encouraged to register online.

E-mail symposium@tamuc.edu with questions.

Hello S.A. 2024 Symposium Committee Members!

For those of you traveling to San Antonio for the 2023 symposium, I encourage you to be observant of events and activities in the coming days.  It is important to capture details that may or may not be found on the San Antonio agenda or website that we would benefit in knowing about or consider as we plan the 2024 symposium.

Be sure to make notes about what you believed provided for a great experience, or issues that could be improved for next year, such as:

  • Hotel accommodations & location
  • Registration
  • Directions to and from the institution
  • Schedule of events and activities
  • Keynote speakers
  • Education blocks
  • Individual breakout sessions (key takeaways, appropriateness of topics, etc.)
  • Food & beverage considerations
  • Recurring topics of conversation
  • Networking outcomes (found new colleagues, peer group interactions, outliers to traditional S.A. roles)
  • Overall energy or mood conveyed
  • Any surprises?

The above list are just a short list of suggestions.  You can certainly consider others.  Ultimately, we are looking to record what stood out, and where there might be room to improve when we host next year.  San Antonio’s communications to us have been very good so far, so that lends to a potentially great experience this week.

Look forward to seeing you all Wednesday.  Safe travels there and back!

Regards,

Gabriel Crosby, Ed.D.
